How Shine Om brought free yoga to the Canberra community

I value community and wellbeing so when I get to offer FREE wellness services to kids I am simply over the moon. 🌜

Throughout October, with the help of a small grant, I was able to provide free classes to children and families in Canberra to celebrate ACT Children’s Week, helping bring my vision for Shine Om into reality. 🧘🏻‍♂‍

The grant went towards purchasing resources and hosting 13 mindful minis and a huge family yoga class as part of our FREE wellness services for ACT Children’s week.

Exploring breath with our partner in Kids Yoga

In our kid’s yoga class, they discovered their breath in fun and engaging ways using tools and nature to identify and manipulate their breath. The kids even got to take home their own breathe bag filled with tools and reminders of how they can use their breath to bring them back to the present moment and calm the farm when needed. “Thank you so much for the breathing tools…totally came in handy on the way home when my son became agitated,” shares one community member.

Shine Om shares family yoga at Lululemon Canberra with over 40 participants

The Family Yoga class was held at Lululemon Canberra and was our biggest class yet with over 44 people coming together to share in the fun and joy of yoga. Our class took us on a journey to the sea where we had hungry swooping seagulls and mindful floating jellyfish to play with.

Thanks to Bec from the Star Class for capturing the magic of the kid’s session and to the staff at Lululemon Canberra for providing a great space to host such an epic class. A huge thank you also to the ACT Children’s Week committee, I am so grateful to have received this grant and to provide these opportunities within the Canberra region.

We look forward to manifesting more collaboration opportunities to provide holistic services to the Canberra Community next year.
