#MindMonth – Why I have set myself the challenge of a month of meditation.

This morning I woke up and meditated, then I spoke to myself as if I were talking to my best friend. I thanked her for always being there for me when I need her to, for protecting me and for fighting. I expressed gratitude for the laughter, for her courage and for her strength.

Then I acknowledged her pain. I saw her struggles and I requested that she put herself first for once. I told her to remove the negativity from her life and to allow herself to be her authentic self. I reminded her of how truly exceptional she is and encouraged her to follow her dreams, accept her worth and love herself more than anyone else.

We cried, we laughed and our spirits lifted. The power of self love and self care is amazing. We had an incredible day.

Following this I decided to encourage or ‘challenge’ myself to a month of meditation. 4 weeks of stopping with the intention to simply sit, breathe and listen to myself. I will strive for 10 minutes but I acknowledge that some days I’ll do more and some days I’ll struggle to start at all.
